Invitation required.

The hall does not maintain a public face. Our doors are kept by introduction from a current member, in the old manner, and have been since the year of our establishment. If you have arrived without an invitation, we expect there has been a misdirection — possibly involving a careless porter, possibly a misprinted card.

Should you wish to put your name forward, please write — by post, by hand, or, if the times require it, by carefully composed electronic mail — to the keeper. We shall consider your name at the next meeting, which is the second Thursday of the coming month.

In the meantime, we wish you the patience of a reading room and the steady company of good weather.
